Six years ago we realized the need for a Parenting Course which would be particular to the parents of children at Greenpark ie. Children aged 3 – 7 years.
Accordingly, Joan Tindale, our Principal, and Jeffrey Kagan, our School Psychologist, collaborated and produced a Parenting course using evidence-based psychology on topics pertaining to childhood development, and began presenting it to the parents at Greenpark.
The results have been overwhelmingly successful and six years later, we continue to present it to our parents.
The course runs over 4 weeks, 2 hours a session, on a Monday or Wednesday evening and is limited to no more than 4 couples at a time. It covers various areas of development as well as communication skills and other pertinent topics.
Parents at Greenpark are required to sign up for the course during their time at the school and by doing so we aim to achieve several objectives a few being
Help in navigating the challenging road of parenting
Ideas on how to handle particular situations which arise in most families
Stages of child development and appropriate responses
Our aim at Greenpark Nursery School is to be as supportive as possible of our families and help to equip the, with our assistance, to manage whole and happy families.
The school subsidizes the cost of the course to keep it as affordable as possible to our parents.
